Homework Notes

You will be posting most of the asignments on the web and linking them off of your homework page. Make sure to validate all of your pages and place a validation link at the bottom of the page.

Web Resources:

Post on the website (You will have access to your space next week so you can post this list in your webspace using HTML) Find as many resources (Books, Websites, Magazines and TV Shows) that will help you "Keep up to speed" in class. You should be able to find at least one page full of resources. (The more resources you find, the better the grade.) C|net Central, YouTube and W3schools are examples of Web sites. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Weekly Review:

Post On Canvas: Post a Review of an article every week about the Internet, Computers, devices that use the Web, or will impact the Internet under  Discussions  >  Weekly Article Review
Make sure to include where you found the article (website or radio or TV or Youtube) and a brief description of the article

Homework Page

Create the Homework Page (see Note 2) and make sure to name it homework.html ! Personalize it before posting it on your space on my server. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Fake Resume:

Create a Fake Online resume. Use this to resume to show off your HTML and CSS skills. You will be graded on the layout, graphics, and links to an external site. Remember, this will show me your HTML skills that you learned in CIS133. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Responsive Website:

Using an HTML Editor or Framework , I want you to create a responsive website that consists of at least 5 pages. Make sure to use good design principles. Include pictures and links to the outside world. Remember: The design must be valid and responsive. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Graphics:

Use a photo editor to create three original graphics or modify three existing graphics. Use Light box to show the original and the new version of the graphic. If you create a new graphic, have a placeholder graphic that says new or original graphic. If you modify a graphic, make sure your show me the original graphic and the final graphic. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Project Plan:

Follow the Proposal outline covered in class. You should use PowerPoint and save the presentation as HTML. Make sure you answer all the questions and estimate how much time you will spend creating the project. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Shopping Form:

Create a form page that sells at least 8 products. Make sure the page has several input methods. You must post to a shopping cart: (Mal's commerce or PayPal or ..) The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Animate:

Create an animation using using Adobe Animate (or Google's Animation tool) HTML5 Canvas option. A simple animation is fine. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

JavaScript:

Add JavaScripts and/or JQuery to a page so you can increase the page's interactivity. You must include a drop down menu (changing Font Size is an example) and a table (or div) section that changes when you rollover the content. Adding an accordion is an option. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

PHP:

Create a web page that is dynamically created from a database that links to a shopping cart, The page can link to the same cart you used in the forms page. You should have at least 8 products. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

CMS / WordPress Site

Create a Website using WordPress, Wix, Drupal, or another CMS.  (I recommend using WordPress). The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.

Final Project:

Your final project needs to be a complete website. You should have at least six web pages that link together. You must follow all the rules for good design I identify during the semester. I would prefer your site to be a real business or a business you want to start. You will learn more from a real world project. The page must have a validation link and be valid to get full credit.
