Wall-E

Wall-E Robot

The movie I chose to review may seem a bit more colorful or childhish, however, I believe it depicts a very real future for the human race if we become too dependent on technology. Wall-E is a Disney movie that follows the story of a small trash compacting robot who still follows its directive long after the human race has abandoned the earth. The world had become unihabitale due to excess amounts of trash overwhelming the populice. A company that dominates most markets within this timeline propses the idea to leave earth on a spaceship and return once plant life can grow. The small robot, Wall-E, discovers a small plant growing and works with and advanced robot from the human spaceship to return the plant life to what humans remain so that they can return to earth.

This is where we get our first depiction of what has become of the humans whom have gotten wuite lethargic and dependent on the comforts offered from their advanced technology. They have turned into aimsless meat wagons being carried around, not even capable of walking or having a face to face conversation with someone, all communication is via a facetime device. The movie does a good job of making comical jokes of the downfall of humans before they rally together and attempt to return back to earth.

A future like this is a very real possibily, where we become so immersed and reliant on technology we forget how to do simple tasks like walking. This movie can be viewed on Disney plus as well as rented or purchased on most streaming services.
